Dato. Sri. Dr. Chew Han Ching, a person with vast experience in the property development and construction industry for over 35 years, qualified with Ph.d. in Civil Engineering and served several public companies listed on Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad. He is the Chief Executive Officer in DP World Sdn Bhd and he also act as an Advisor for POSCTI Sdn Bhd mandated by Terengganu State Government for the KPT (Knowledge Park Terengganu) and furthermore is currently the Chairman of A & A Concept Design & Contract Sdn Bhd and A & A Re Development Sdn Bhd. Doto’ Sri act as an Advisor in ACG Holdings Pte Ltd in Hai Phong City, Vietnam.
He was appointed to the Board of Directors of Farlim Group (Malaysia) Bhd and the director and Chief Executive Officer of Farlim Zhongfu (M) Sdn Bhd overseeing the development and operation of the development and construction in China. The Company is currently constructing condominiums in ZhangZhou and QuanZhou in the Fujian Province and he is also master planning one 13,000 acres of mixed development project in Jinan, Shangdong Province, including designing and constructing all infrastructures surrounding and assessing the site.
He was appointed as Executive Director for Putera Capital Berhad, Group Managing Director of the property division of FACB Berhad and CEO of the property division of MBf Holding Berhad and as the Managing Director of CMS Property Development Sdn Bhd. During his appointment with CMS property, he is responsible for the entire vision to plan, strategize, develop, expand the CMS Group’s land bank, which includes maneuvering the successful development of the 5,000 acre site riverine township of Bandar Samariang and also identify opportunities for future property development and project management. He is also the man behind the substantive costs saving exercise which contributed to material profit margin for the Company.
He had also successfully finalised and secured the agreements for the construction of 1,000 units of single terrace housing for army personnel (Koperasi Perumahan Angkatan Tentera Berhad), donated land to Chung Hua Primary School Management Committee to relocate a Chinese Primary School and Kindergarten to Bandar Samariang and sale of land for the Halal Hub development. Dato’ Sri Dr Chew also pioneered and motivated the sales and marketing team and led to a remarkable and measurable performance whereby an improvement of 165% in total sales revenue and reduction of 63% in total number of ready-built properties was achieved. Improved market awareness of Bandar Baru Samariang and CMS Property Development as a developer on an expansionary and aggressive growth path was achieved.
As Executive Director of Putera Capital Berhad, he led the construction of accommodation facilities for 6,000 students at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia in Skudai, Johor. and Tuanku Jaafar Power Station Rehabilitation Project, Port Dickson for Tenaga Nasional Berhad. And a Memorandum of Agreement was entered into between China National Electric Equipment Corporation and a Group of Malaysian Companies for The 500KV “Missing Link” Project in Malaysia worth about RM3.5billion.
As Chief Executive Officer of the Property Division of MBf Holdings Bhd and Managing Director of Bina MBf Sdn Bhd (a subsidiary of MBf Holdings Bhd), Dato’ Sri Dr Chew was the promoter and pioneer who set-up the construction and property management arm for the Group to rehabilitate construction and property development projects in the entire Malaysia which contributed substantially to the total turnover of MBf Holdings Bhd. The company had become one of the biggest contractors and developers in Malaysia at that time.
He has overseen the successful completion of numerous projects. His specialties not only cover the construction of new project but rather he had earned his reputation for being capable to recover those abandoned projects having technical and financial complications including those projects under Bank Negara TPU and TPPT. His strength is in the design and engineering consultation, project management, property development, infrastructure construction and project privatization.
Dato Sri Dr. Chew also has hands-on involvement in the corporate exercises including IPOs, reverse takeovers, mergers and acquisitions and other corporate turnaround schemes.
Dato Sri Dr Chew visited Kingdom of Spain and Republic of Finland to future study for project in Kingdom of Cambodia.
